Well, I've been playing a lot of decent video games lately; Burnout Revenge, Mario Hoops 3-on-3, Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Cooking Mama, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade! It's been great, I don't think I've had any poor games! My friend Keith was telling me the demo of Farcry for xBox 360 was no good, so I think I'll be staying clear of that one! I did get the demo for the Sonic the Hedgehog game, I'll have to give that a go sometime this week.
The new game I got was Wario Ware. A co-worker was telling me how amazing it was and that I needed to get it. So I did, and I think it's a 8/10. I am not really sure why but it feels like it was made cheaply. The mini-games are really fun, but I am not sure the game has a point. There doesn't really seem to be a strong story, and you just go from building to building doing these mini-games. I thought it was going to be a multi-player game but it's not yet, apparently you have to unlock that. I can't wait to try that part out though! I've unlocked 7-8 buildings so far, not sure how much is accomplished but it's definitely a fun game! I really wish it was multi-player from the start though!
The next game I picked up this weekend is one that I've had my eye on for a while! Mario Hoops 3-on-3 is so much fun! I just wish I had gotten it sooner! The controls a little odd at first. I felt a little overwhelmed with learning them all but I think I have them down now. I've been running through the tournaments and they get progressively harder. I've mashed my way through the Flower Cup and now I am on the last cup. It seems they only have 3 cups, but maybe more are unlockable. They also have challenges, exhibition modes and a multi-player mode. Emilie and I will have to try that out sometime this week. The courts are fun and original, my favorite one is the one where piranha plants are the hoops! There are unlockable characters, so far I've only unlocked a couple, but I am sure there's lots. I heard that there are characters from Final Fantasy in there too! I seem to have made up a good team too. Yoshi, Baby Bowser and Mario seem to be doing the trick for me. I have yet to loose a match!
Well I'm off to go work on some Burnout Revenge, I can't let Kat beat me!

I first heard about the game Horsez in August. I thought I had made on a post on one of my other blogs about it but I guess I didn't. Anyways, I bought the game a couple days after it came out.
The game is from Ubisoft, the people who brought us Champions Dream First to Ride, which was okay if you don't mind really cheesy game play. Horsez is basically the exact same game but less story. You get to choose your horse and you got through the same schedule-like interface to choose what you do. Quite simple. Controlling your character kind of sucks but you'll get used to it.
The only reason I got this game is because it has horses in it. I think this game was fun for about 5 minutes, but after that it started to suck. I managed to excel in every category except social activity which meant I wasn't allowed to compete at the end of the week. How stupid...Oh well, someday they'll make a cool horse-sim game.

I think Emilie's age went down also but she's missed a couple days. I heard in Japan their consoles didn't even come with WiiSports. I also heard that they sold 1 million Wii units so far and Japans launch day sold out of the units. Pretty cool.
I also read that there's going to Wii online gaming come Q1 of 2007. That's going to be pretty exciting. I can't wait to dual it out with Super Smash Bros, without having people at my house!
I am still waiting to find some component cables, I need something better then composite because it's looking pretty bad on my TV.
I picked up a classic controller over the weekend. I heard it got some pretty good reviews. I was worried it wouldn't work with N64 games but it does! I found a nice chart on Joystiq. I am still waiting for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I think that's going to be released in January?? Can anyone confirm/deny that?
My buddy Keith sent me a picture in my Wii email, and it does work nicely. I've actually started using my Wii to regularly email people which is kind of funny, but it works! Input is a little slow, but good enough for a short email.
I didn't get to play Zelda over the weekend which is dissappointing, maybe next weekend!

After finishing up my 10 page or so paper last night I had a quick round of WiiSports Fitness. Unfortunately since I was so tired my Wii age went up to 40. I guess aging 3 years isn't to bad. I do hope to get it back down 3 years, hopefully more. I felt like I did better in tennis then I normally do, but I had some trouble with bowling.
I think I read somewhere, maybe off Digg.com that they're coming up with another game to add to WiiSports. If I remember I'll post a little bit about that.
So what kind of games is everyone else playing, Zelda, Redsteel? Hopefully I get a smidgen of time to play that this weekend. It sure is a lot of fun! I just need those darn component cables! It looks terrible on my TV!
One game that I thought looked semi-interesting was Elebits, and hopefully they put out Final Furlong for Nintendo Wii, but I guess I have to wait and see.

Just played an hour or so of Twilight Princess. We're on the 2nd light spirit, and we were collecting the little light tears from some bugs. I managed to get all but the last couple bugs. I got owned by a couple shadow beasts. You had to knock down one of the beasts who happened to be within a maze. I did get to him but then he killed me quite quickly, I think one wap to my body and I was dead. At that point gave up. It's a lot of fun thought, I like having the ability to go into wolf form, but being human is nice too.
I really cannot wait until they put out Ocarina of Time. I will definitely play through that a couple times! That and Star Fox 64. Goldeneye 007 would sure be a lot of fun too.
Twilight Princess wasn't the only thing we did today. Emilie and I played some WiiSports (non-fitness). We tried out golf, and it's a lot of fun. I am sure it's a lot more fun then real golf (that stuff is so boring). I managed to beat her, she had some trouble in the beginning. I think by the 3rd and final hole we were both starting to get get the hang of it. It takes some practice to swing and hit the ball with the right amount of speed/force. You can't hit it to hard or things get wonky, and obviously if you don't hit it hard enough, the ball won't go anywhere!
We also played a couple rounds of tennis, which were quite close, she had me beat a couple times, but I also had her beat, and eventually won the set. We also had a round in bowling, which I won...I won;t mention the score, but it was good times. I don't know how I won either, luck!
I urge anyone to try out the Nintendo Wii, it's so much fun!

Well, this is day two of WiiSports Fitness and it's going better. I didn't do so well in tennis but I got 4 home runs in baseball. My overall Wii age is now 37 down from 41! So it's not a huge jump, like Emilie's but it's getting down there, only 17 more years and I'll be at the right age haha

This morning I started my new fitness program, WiiSports Fitness. Alright, so it's really a video game with sports in it, but it runs you through 3-4 tests to see your "WiiSports age". You get to bowl, play base, tennis and I think one other to see what your physical fitness age it in Wii terms. Unfortunately for me...it's 41. Ouch...I've got some getting in shape to do I guess!
Of course there were times when I swung the racket once and my little on-screen Mii was swinging it multiple times. It's still is a lot of fun, I just can't wait to see what Emilie gets!
