We spent a good 2 hours riding yesterday and according to Traineo that's almost 1000 calories burned. Cool! I even started an Equestrians group on there and several people have joined. Loosing weight is good.
I keep forgetting to put splint boots on Nippet. I have been putting on a bunch of Thrush Buster though. it's pretty muddy out. It rained a lot yesterday and today.
We're going to see them tonight too. I am sure that will be fun. We're bringing the Rebel XT so I'll be sure to post some pictures.
I told Emilie we should have an egg and spoon race but she didn't want to waste the eggs haha

No Amish house had any electrical cables going to them. The only power line was from the posts to their barns. That power went into refrigerators to chill their milk. They did use batteries for the lights on their buggies. That makes it safer which is a good idea. They also have reflective badges on the buggies.
Most of the Amish people were farmers but there was a blacksmith and a welder. I believe the welder also need some electricity for some devices that repairs tools and such. The Amish people would also have puppy farms which were not good things. The puppies were kept in good condition. I am actually not sure why they do this and what the point of these puppy farms was.
I did ask how one became Amish, and it happened how I thought. Most people are born into the Amish religion, very few choose to become Amish. I also learned that Amish people do not have social security numbers. This led me to another question. If you were to become Amish would you basically fall off the face of the planet in the eyes of the IRS and social security department eyes. The answer was basically yes, although it's rare. People don't do things like that and usually once you've interacted with the IRS, you're always in their "system".
My girlfriend was telling me the Amish people really work their horses to death and most of the horses and mules don't live to well, so that didn't make me very happy.
Overall the Amish are interesting people, they have their own horse and buggy parking spots in the local Costo's which I thought was interesting. They seem to be humble people. I think it would be interesting to learn more about them and even see how they work by "shadowing" them. Although that would be unlikely since they keep to themselves for the most of it.
It was a fun drive and it was nice to see the country and lifestyles of Pennsylvania. If you get the chance just take a drive and see this culture!

I first heard about the game Horsez in August. I thought I had made on a post on one of my other blogs about it but I guess I didn't. Anyways, I bought the game a couple days after it came out.
The game is from Ubisoft, the people who brought us Champions Dream First to Ride, which was okay if you don't mind really cheesy game play. Horsez is basically the exact same game but less story. You get to choose your horse and you got through the same schedule-like interface to choose what you do. Quite simple. Controlling your character kind of sucks but you'll get used to it.
The only reason I got this game is because it has horses in it. I think this game was fun for about 5 minutes, but after that it started to suck. I managed to excel in every category except social activity which meant I wasn't allowed to compete at the end of the week. How stupid...Oh well, someday they'll make a cool horse-sim game.
